HIPAA applies to covered entities like doctors, hospitals, and health plans, and to their business associates. As a coordination and support tool, HiDoula is not your medical provider and is not a covered entity, so HIPAA compliance is not the right frame for what we do. Instead, we protect your information with end-to-end encryption: your data is encrypted on your device, even we can’t read it, and it is shared only with the people you invite. If you use HiDoula as part of a clinical relationship that does fall under HIPAA, talk with that provider about their own obligations.
