Accessibility Statement

Effective: June 12, 2026

Pregnancy and birth touch everyone, so HiDoula should work for everyone. We are committed to making the service usable by people of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web and mobile experiences more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for a wide range of people. We treat WCAG 2.2 AA as our working target across our marketing site and the HiDoula app, and we consider accessibility as we design and build new features rather than as an afterthought.

What we do

  • Design for keyboard navigation and visible focus, not just mouse or touch.
  • Use semantic structure and labels so screen readers can describe the interface.
  • Aim for sufficient color contrast and avoid relying on color alone to convey meaning.
  • Support text resizing and respect your device’s text-size and motion settings.
  • Review accessibility when we ship significant changes.

Known limitations

We want to be honest: HiDoula is a small, actively developing product, and we have not yet completed a full third-party accessibility audit. Some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Known gaps we are working on include:

  • Some interactive components and newer screens have not been fully tested with every screen reader and browser combination.
  • A few images, icons, and status indicators may have incomplete or imperfect text alternatives.
  • Color contrast and focus styling are still being refined in places, and some custom controls may not yet expose ideal labels or roles to assistive technology.
  • Third-party components we rely on (for example, our payment provider’s checkout) have their own accessibility behavior that we do not fully control.

We treat accessibility issues as real bugs and prioritize the ones that block people from using core features.

Tell us when something does not work

If you run into an accessibility barrier, or you need information or a feature in a different format, please tell us. Email hello@hidoula.app and describe what you were trying to do, the page or screen involved, and the assistive technology you use if relevant. We read every message, will respond within a reasonable time, and will do our best to provide the information or help you in another way while we work on a fix.
