Not medical care

HiDoula is a coordination and support tool. It does not provide medical care, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and nothing in the app, including contraction timing displays, labor-status indicators, birth plans, messages, or notifications, is a clinical assessment or a recommendation about your health. Decisions about care should always be made with your licensed care provider.

Not an emergency system

HiDoula must never be relied on for urgent or emergency communication. Messages and notifications can be delayed or fail because of connectivity, device settings, or service issues. In any urgent situation, call your care provider or local emergency services directly by phone.

Not a medical device

HiDoula is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or condition. It is general-wellness software for organization, awareness, and communication within a support team.

Timing information is user-entered and informational only

Contraction timing logs and rolling averages reflect only what someone typed or tapped into the app. They exist to support awareness and conversation within your support team. HiDoula never assesses whether you are in labor, never evaluates whether timing is normal or safe, and never tells you when to go to a hospital or birth location. Those judgments belong to you and your licensed care provider.

Doulas are independent professionals

Doulas who use HiDoula are independent professionals, not employees, agents, or representatives of The Naperville Doula LLC. We do not supervise, certify, endorse, or vouch for any practitioner, and each doula remains solely responsible for their own practice, scope of care, and compliance with applicable laws and certification standards.

Reliance

Information in HiDoula is provided for coordination and general awareness. To the extent permitted by law, any reliance you place on it is at your own discretion. Please verify anything that matters to your health with your care provider.

Your provider relationship is unaffected

Using HiDoula does not create a medical or clinical relationship with us and does not change, replace, or interfere with your relationship with your doctor, midwife, or other licensed care providers. Keep them informed the way you normally would.

Your acknowledgment

When you create a HiDoula account or accept an invitation, you check a box acknowledging and agreeing that HiDoula is not medical care, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment; that timing information is user-entered and informational only; that decisions about your care rest solely with you and your licensed care providers; and that, within the limits of applicable law, you assume the ordinary risks of relying on a coordination tool, such as delays, outages, and data loss. The full acknowledgment and assumption of risk lives in our Terms of Service.
